State of Iowa Financial Report
Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR)
Fiscal Year Ended June 30, 2011
The Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) is presented in three main sections. The Introductory Section includes a financial overview, discussion of Iowa's economy, and an organization chart for State government. The Financial Section includes the state auditor's report, management's discussion and analysis, audited basic financial statements and notes thereto, and the underlying combining and individual fund financial statements and supporting schedules. The Statistical Section sets forth selected unaudited economic, financial trend and demographic information for the state on a multi-year basis.
For 16 consecutive years the State of Iowa received the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officer's Association (GFOA) for its CAFRs. The most recent award was for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2008. Iowa has received this Certificate of Achievement for Excellence for the consecutive 16 fiscal years ended June 30, 1993 - 2008. The 2011 CAFR has been submitted to the GFOA to determine its eligibility for the certificate.
